A Family Business

In October of 2015 my wife and I became new parents, and as new parents, we were trying to figure out ways to save money. With Christmas on its way, I suggested I make some cutting boards as gifts based on the Youtube videos I had been watching. Using only a table saw and a belt sander, I got started. It took several weeks to get the boards completed. Upon completion, a friend saw the boards and asked me to make 11 more. It then started a snowball effect and before I knew it, Sider’s Woodcrafting was born.

My wife and I take pride in what we make. We are committed to making high quality handcrafted products and stand behind what we make. We like to take something that is used everyday and make it a functional work of art. We use a combination of domestic and exotic woods from all over the world and take pride in highlighting the natureal color of the wood. Every product that we make is handmade from our small workshop beside our house in Brewer, Maine.

2016 was our first full year as a home based business and it was a crazy busy year. We sold just shy of 400 cutting boards. I am blown away by the support and complements we have received from our customers. We are looking forward to what the future brings as we grow.
