About Wood

End grain cutting boards are the highest quality of cutting boards available.  Unlike other boards, these boards will not break down as long as the board is protected from drying out (see How to Care for your Cutting Board). Our end grain products (such as chopping blocks) are noted as such.

What is the difference between end grain and face grain cutting board?  With a face grain cutting board, you are cutting into the fibers of the wood, like chopping a tree.  With end grain, you are cutting between the fibers of the wood like sliding a knife through the bristles of a paint brush.  When you pull your knife out, the fibers squeeze back together again.  This board is less likely to show your cut marks. Cutting between the wood fibers on an end grain cutting board will protect your knives and keep their edge sharper. Because the end grain wood fibers aren’t being damaged, the board will literally last you a lifetime!

We are grateful for your business.  We take pride in what we create and if for any reason you are not satisfied with what you have purchased please contact us. We hope that you enjoy our products as much as we enjoyed making them.
